Virginia Black Chamber Foundation
Foundation Mission
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The Virginia Alliance for Business, Commerce, and Communities Foundation (VABCCF) is committed to building a strong, healthy Virginia by addressing critical needs such as food insecurity, housing, education, and mental health. We meet these needs by creating programs that increase financial literacy, strengthen workforce pathways, and support small business development—recognizing that economic empowerment is essential to community well-being.
Foundation Vision
The Virginia Alliance for Business, Commerce and Communities Foundation (VABCCF) envisions a Virginia where all individuals and families have equitable access to resources, opportunities, and support—creating thriving communities powered by strong economies, resilient people, and lasting partnerships.
Foundation Purpose
The Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce Foundation exists to champion the economic empowerment of communities by providing essential support to entrepreneurs and business owners. We aim to bridge gaps in access to capital, education, and networking opportunities, ensuring that small businesses have the tools and resources necessary to flourish and drive sustainable economic development across the state.
Our Evolution: From Directory to Alliance
The Virginia Alliance for Business, Commerce and Communities Foundation (VABCCF) began its journey in 2020 as the Virginia Black Business Directory (VABBD)—a grassroots initiative dedicated to uplifting and promoting Black-owned businesses across the Commonwealth.
As our work expanded beyond business visibility into areas like community development, workforce advancement, financial literacy, and public advocacy, our name evolved to reflect that broader mission. In 2024, we legally became the Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
Now, after thoughtful reflection and a deeper understanding of the communities we serve, we are in the process of legally changing our name to The Virginia Alliance for Business, Commerce and Communities Foundation (VABCCF). This name honors our roots while embracing our statewide focus on economic empowerment, cross-sector collaboration, and community well-being.
Please note: Our EIN (85-0797003) remains the same.
